In Kazakhstan, for the first time, the Green Office competition will be held to help form the environmental behavior and thinking of employees of companies and government agencies. This was reported by Saltanat Rakhimbekova, chairman of the board of the coalition for "green economy" and G-Clobal development, at a press conference in Nur-Sultan, reports.

"We assume that this Green Office competition will help us introduce an ecological way of behavior and thinking. This will promote green technologies that reduce utility costs, create favorable conditions for employees' health and form a friendly attitude to the environment," Rakhimbekova said.

According to her, the competition will be held from May 1 to August 20. During this period, applications from interested organizations are expected. Also on July 4, by the Day of Environmental Protection, a round table will be held on promoting the principles of a green economy. In early September, a conference is planned where the winners will be awarded in 10 nominations.

Diana Digol, Deputy Head of the OSCE Programs Office in Nur-Sultan, noted that if an office does not fit the notion "green", then individual efforts of employees will be taken into account.

It is worth noting that a “green office” is an office where all resources are used sparingly, they take care of the environment. In a green office, employees are involved in work to improve working conditions and productivity, design and architecture, quality of the living environment and leisure opportunities.
