Kazakhstan will take measures to improve the quality of medical care and complete the creation of a single digital healthcare space. This was announced by Prime Minister Askar Mamin at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazpravda.kz reports.

"In general, the Densaulyk state program has shown its effectiveness. Thanks to its implementation, the main medical and demographic indicators have improved in the country. Life expectancy has reached 73 years. Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev gave specific instructions to improve the quality of medical care, increase primary care costs to 60 percent. The head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, also instructed to take measures to prevent disease, promote a healthy lifestyle,” the PM recalled.

According to him, the new program document is aimed precisely at solving these and other problems.

“A draft new state program is aimed at solving these important tasks. The first is: in order to form a commitment to a healthy lifestyle among the population, the public health service will be modernized. The second is to take measures to improve the quality of medical care and complete the creation of a single digital healthcare space. Funding of polyclinics and hospitals will be improved for this. In all regions, the development of centers of the best practices of primary medical care will continue," - said the Prime Minister.

Askar Mamin noted that in addition to this, the National Health Workforce System will be created to improve the status of health workers.

“The salaries of doctors and nurses will increase by an average of 2 times. Social support measures will be strengthened. On the whole, the load on one doctor will decrease to OECD standards. For the sustainable development of the healthcare system, the investment climate of the medical industry will be radically improved. For the first time, it is planned to attract 2,8 trillion tenge, including 2.2 trillion of private investments. At the expense of these funds, 431 healthcare facilities will be built, including 19 new multidisciplinary hospitals of international level through PPP mechanisms,” he went on.

According to the PM, this will allow to renew the bed fund by 50% and reduce the depreciation of buildings from 56 to 38%. All these measures will improve the medical infrastructure and reduce the incidence rate, and increase the average life expectancy to 75 years by 2025.
