The number of ambulance calls has increased in Kazakhstan. This was announced at an online briefing by the Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lyazat Aktayeva, Kazpravda.kz reports.

"It should be said that there is an increase in ambulance calls. We are monitoring, comparing with the same period last year, comparing with the previous week. We see that in the cities and regions there is an increase in the number of ambulance calls, mainly in Nur-Sultan. If earlier in the capital there were about 1000 calls per day, now there are more than 2000-2500 calls," said Aktayeva.

However, she noted that people do not always apply to ambulances to receive medical care "here and now."

“There are times when it’s important for patients to get information. Because it can be difficult to objectively assess their condition. Therefore, in the emergency services, along with the dispatch service that receives calls, the call centers operate. There are doctors in such centers who can provide a qualified consultation. Today it is important to properly form the patient flow so as not to overload the healthcare system. The patient should be hospitalized if he has clear indications for hospitalization," the vice minister added.
