Medical students showed poor performance

Students of Kazakhstan medical universities showed low scores in the knowledge assessment test. This was stated by the head of the National Independent Examination Center, Gulmira Zhangereeva, at the meeting in Senate on improving the availability and effectiveness of medical care, reports.

"With support of the Ministry of Health, we tested the knowledge of the first, second and third year students of medical universities. Only one university showed a satisfactory performance - South Kazakhstan Medical Academy: the students’ average knowledge level of this university was 61.1%. The rest did not reach the threshold level in learning of the subjects, "said Gulmira Zhangreeyeva.

According to her, the average score in knowledge in the republic is 41.3.  The test of graduates' knowledge recorded a low level of subject mastery, she added.
