In Nur-Sultan, there has been an increase in incoming calls and calls from citizens to the ambulance station on CVI issues. Calls related to coronavirus have increased to 300 per day, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the capital's akimat.

"The load on the ambulance service has increased again in the city. Due to the difficult epidemiological situation in the capital, the ambulance station receives up to 3-3.5 thousand calls a day," the Public Health Department said.

According to Bota Sadetkhan, head of the dispatch department of the State Medical Emergency Service, there is an increase in calls with CVI, ARVI and pneumonia.

"Compared to this period last year, today the number of calls to ambulance has increased to 40%! In the last week alone, the number of calls related to CVI has increased 1.5 times - from 179 to 300 per day," says the head of the department.

Recall that last year, in the summer, ambulance teams served more than 18 thousand calls, most of which were due to coronavirus infection. On CVI issues, dispatchers consulted on 9.5 thousand calls.

Currently, there is a high increase in coronavirus disease in the capital. So, over the past day, 219 people were hospitalized in infectious diseases hospitals.

14 hospitals are involved in the treatment of CVI. In total, over 1,600 patients in the city are hospitalized, over 1,400 of them with CVI, the rest with pneumonia. Bed occupancy is 75%. There are 104 patients in the intensive care unit, including 48 - heavy severity condition, 56 patients - extremely critical condition.
