“Monitoring spontaneous reports of adverse reactions gives us the opportunity to respond in a timely manner and objectively assess the safety signals of medicines, and accordingly take timely measures, starting with updating information about the drug, including, in some critical cases, recalling the drug from the market,” notes the head of the pharmacovigilance department and monitoring the safety, efficacy and quality of medical devices of the National Center for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices (NCEM) Malik Abdrakhmanov.

As the expert explains, even the side effects described in the instructions are important to report. This is done so that specialists constantly monitor and check the accuracy of the data in the instructions.

How can I report an adverse reaction to a drug?

The first way is to visit your doctor or pharmacist and report any complications. In this case, together with the doctor, you fill out an adverse reaction card on the NCEM website www.ndda.kz.

The second way is to contact the drug manufacturer. Usually, the instructions for medicines and medical devices indicate the contacts of the company or legal entity that accepts claims for these products.

The third and easiest way for the patient is to use the DariKZ mobile application, which is available for iOS and Android devices. The interface of the application is very simple, and it will take two to three minutes to send such a message.

Sending is carried out in a few clicks: after installing the application, you need to open the "Yellow Cards" section, fill in information about the patient and the drug, provide contact information for feedback and send a message. The information will go directly to the National Center for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices.

“We urge everyone to actively participate in the pharmacovigilance system through a simple tool for sending information in the DariKZ application using the “Yellow Cards” section - this will allow even more qualitative and detailed monitoring of the safety of drugs circulating in our country,” the Ministry of Health said in an appeal to the population .
